DATA RECOVERY / SERVICE 08

Mac & iPad Recovery

Apple's storage and encryption have changed significantly over the years — from older HFS+ drives to APFS, FileVault and T2/Apple Silicon security. Recovery has to match the specific system involved, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

01

Identify system & encryption status

We confirm the macOS version, file system (HFS+ or APFS) and whether FileVault encryption is active — this determines the recovery method.

02

Appropriate extraction method

Older Intel Macs, T2-equipped models and Apple Silicon devices each need a different approach to safely access the underlying storage.

03

Decryption with proper authorisation

Where FileVault or device encryption is active, we require your credentials or recovery key — we can't and won't bypass encryption without authorisation.

04

Verified recovery

Recovered files are checked against your Mac or iPad's expected folder structure before handover.

Keep your FileVault recovery key or Apple ID credentials on hand — without them, even a physically successful recovery can't decrypt the data. Start a case on the contact page, or see the full data recovery services overview.
